Rules of SRT 

  1. Belays must be constructed in a way that guarantees only static loading of the rope.
  2. Ropes must be laid without touching the rock.
  3. On the end of each free hanging or packed rope there must be a safety knot.
  4. Descending on rope using a non auto-stop device must be secured in some way (belayed).
  5. All rappel devices must be connected to the sit-harness by locking karabiner.
  6. An ascending caver must be connected to the rope with a minimum of two ascending devices at all times.
  7. A highline must be constructed of a minimum of two separately anchored rope lines.
  8. The caver must be connected to both lines during the highline cross.
  9. Pretension of a highline must follow the 10% rule (means that a load on the middle of the highline must sag a minimum of 10% of the length of the highline).
  10. The caver's personal equipment must be always available (never packed collectively).
