    Important IMPORTANT
 

• Each competitor (advisable for all participants) must have Medical Fee Insurance valid for European countries. This Insurance is possible to arrange in nearly all Insurance Office for small money, even few minutes before leaving the home Country. Personal Life, Accident or Injury Insurance or special insurance for an eventual Cave Rescue is not necessary.

• It is welcomed if somebody will carry slide show, Video or any other multimedia along to show during the event. Arpi Petrik  petrikarpi@yahoo.com or 00421 905 219499 is a responsible person for all presentations. Please, let him know about your presentation, what kind and of course the time of duration.

 
The competition will be officially opened on Friday 23rd August 2002 at 8.00 in the Camp.

• The race will start just after the opening ceremony at 8.30 a.m. atthe place (map ) cca. 1 km far from the camp.
• Competitors are not allowed to see their rivals solving the competition tasks. Therefore competitors must have proper clothing and even food for some hour waiting alone.
• The main and highest scoring task will the rope-race-course (line diagram ). The climbers are randomly ordered. The rope-race-course is 75 meters long built on a vertical or overhanging rock-wall. There are classical SRT situations. One 15 m long and deep-sag Tyrolienne lead to a tree with a falling back to the rock-wall. The last rappel is through a deviation.

While waiting for the main rope-race 3 more tasks await the participants.
 

• A 5 meters descend through a knot with covered eyes is also highly scored. Of course SRT safety rules must be followed at all time. The team competitors will start to rappel at the same time on parallel ropes. The task will be scored as the last member completes it.
• A special mechanical rope climbing task will be the third job, in which skill and resourcefulness will be more important than power.
• The fourth job is a knotting task, but not a simple one. Some skill on knots and imagination are necessary.

 
The cave-run race starts next day, Saturday, at 8.00.map 
 

• The competitors will be allowed to drive up on the plateau. The parking place is about 500 meters from the cave. The road and the footpath will be marked.
• The teams enter the cave every 20 minutes in an order as they completed the rope-race-course. The fastest team is the firstone and the slowest is the last one.
• The cave is quite complicated, therefore the route will be marked and at some places judges will control the right direction and safety rules used in cave motion and SRT.  The cave-run will take cca. 2 - 2,5 hours.

• Not far from the cave entrance the last task of the competitionon will be a rope hanging from a tree . A "mini-rescue" meaning that the participants have  to perform a 'pick-off' of a stranded climber, bringing him/her safely down to the ground. This task must be done by both members of the team and the scoring will be calculated from the time of both members of the team. Of course SRT safety rules are important. The teams can complete this task before or after the cave-run.

 CAMP
 

• There is no mobile phone transmission in the village, but there is a card phone near the camp. Mobile phones can be used about 1 km from the camp, close to the place where the rope-race-course is prepared.
• There is no accommodation in the village. One must have a tent.
• Cold water is available only for everyday cleaning and washing. Simple military grooves will be for washing and two showers will be set up for the participants.
• There is no pub in the village, but a special buffet will serve us just on the camp with draught beer, some food, vegetable and bread if necessary.
• Saturday 24th August from 22.00 live-music (Akustik band or Sex-it).

• All registered competitors, participants and guests will receive identification badges. With this badge you will have free tickets to the show caves in the area (Domica, Gombasecká jaskyňa, Jasovská jaskyňa and Ochtinská aragonitová jaskyňa) www.ssj.sk, and 50% discount in museums and castles (Castle Krasna Horka, Mauzoleum Krásna Hôrka and Betliar manor-house) www.snm.sk/muzea/betliar/expozicie.htm.

All the caves are part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Visiting of the caves individually is forbidden and strictly controlled.
 
We have special exception from the law from Slovak Minister of Environment end Nature Protection for this event.
